PPCC's Study Skills Courses AAA 109

PPCC made the decision to require the AAA 109 course for all students who tested into a dev ed math or English course.  As a pilot the college decided to do two different curricula to compare the results.  In this session you will see the data from the last 2 semesters and take a look at the two curricula. Participants will be doing some of the activities used in these courses.

Math! It's Magic!

One of the oldest and most intriguing professions has been that of performing magical illusions. The enjoyment of watching comes with the mystery involved. Unbeknownst to the general public, many of the secrets are based in mathematics. Come learn some magic, perform some magic, and explore the mathematics involved that makes them work. Discuss with colleagues ideas of taking some to a new, more difficult level, and ways to incorporate them into your own classroom.
