Denver Places and Events |
Denver has no shortage of interesting places and events within a short distance of our conference. Since the Sheraton Downtown Hotel is on the vibrant 16th Street Mall, you will be able to walk to or take the free bus just outside the conference hotel to get to these sites. In lieu of formally offered tours, you can visit history and art museums, tour government buildings (the Capital, Civic Center and Federal Mint), take in a professional sports game, or go to local bookstores and gift shops after enjoying conference events.
We will have volunteers available at the Conference Welcome and Information Booth near the conference registration in the Sheraton if you need help. We are also planning to offer host-free dinners so that you can go out to one of the many restaurants in the area with a group of conference attendees; sign up for these at the Information Booth. Maps at the Booth will show locations of nearby drug stores, grocery stores, medical facilities, places of worship, and restaurants. While we will have some brochures at the Booth, on 16th Street, there are local Denver Ambassadors at Information Centers who can direct you to sites, give you other brochures, and provide information on connections from the free 16th Street bus to Denver’s light rail transit system. In your room you will find a comprehensive Denver magazine highlighting current events.
Since we know that conference goers often research the city they’ll be visiting before they leave home, we have listed links on our conference web site that might help you plan what you would like to see while you are in Denver: http://www.nade2013.com/things%20to%20do.htm. Of course, the conference team is not responsible for these sites or companies and we will not benefit from the sales of any tickets. Our intent is to offer ideas that will lead you to areas of interest while you are not at conference events.
The 2013 Conference Team hopes that you will enjoy the NADE conference and all that Denver, The Mile High City, has to offer.
