Fall Conference Business Meeting

Presiding: Susan Konantz, CoADE Vice President

Purpose:
Draw names for prizes
Elect and introduce new officers
Discuss hosting NADE in Denver in 2013
Vote on possible theme for NADE conference

Meeting:

1. Susan Konantz called meeting to order since president was not present
2. Attendance was taken at the beginning of the conference; members present can be verified by looking at the registration.  No other attendance was taken by the former secretary, Karen Lemke.
3. Door prizes were drawn.  Prizes included a NADE membership, grab bag, craft snowman, among other items.
4. Jean Olsen read the treasurer’s report in place of Shawna Mahan, who was absent.  CoADE currently has $3234.12 in its treasury as of August.
5. Art, Tina, Ivan and Jeanine presented the needs for planning NADE 2013 to be held at the downtown Denver Sheraton.
1. Need volunteers for chairs
2. Will meet at least twice a year
3. Stressed that more people equals less work.
6. Members debated possible themes for NADE 2013.
1. Reaching the peak of success, mining golden nuggets of success, and Rocky Mountain higher education were the top picks
2. Theme decision tabled till spring.
3. Will send the top three suggestions to NADE for approval
7. Nominations and elections were held for new CoADE officers.
1. Elected president-elect in 2008, Ivan Loy of FRCC assumed position as president.
2. Jean Olsen of PPCC was nominated for treasurer.  Art motioned to close nominations. All members present were in favor.
3. Kelly Zepp of WCCC/Mesa State was nominated for treasurer.  Art motioned to close nominations. All members present were in favor.
4. Ross Barnhart of PCC was nominated for vice president.  Art motioned to close nominations. All members present were in favor.
5. Susan Konantz and Nancy Schwartz were nominated for president-elect. 

• Each woman stated why she would make a good president-elect.
• Secret ballot by members was held.
• Ballots were counted up by Art and Jean Olsen
• Susan Konantz of WCCC/Mesa State won the election.

8. CoADE banner is in Ross Barnhart’s possession for spring conference.
9. Adobe Dreamweaver is in Kelly Zepp’s possession.
10. Ivan Thanked Western State for hosting conference.
11. Need for someone to coordinate a newsletter/blog was mentioned.
12. Locations for next year’s fall conference were discussed.

2. Red Rocks CC
3. Western Colorado CC

Meeting adjourned:

• No note of who called the meeting to adjourn was made.  The meeting ended at approximately 3:00 pm.
