Kimberly Nolting, Vice President of Marketing and Research for Academic Success Press, Inc., integrates her past professions as instructor of English and reading, coordinator of academic support services, assistant dean, and other leadership roles to provide well rounded and detailed consulting and professional development.
She is currently completing her PhD dissertation in predicting course completers and non-completers in developmental English and math courses, using a predictive model based in psychosocial and learning attributes and behaviors. Her PhD studies are in Higher Education Leadership and Adult Education with a cognate in measurement and research. Her Masters in Teaching and Communication serves as a strong foundation for professional development in teaching and learning. She taught in the high school system, as well as in the community college and university settings.
During her work at the community college, she has developed academic support centers, designed and implemented orientation courses, and Supplemental Instruction programs. She worked with colleagues to develop learning communities and paired courses.
She is also a Kellogg graduate and participant in the Advanced Kellogg Institute. She received the 1997 Exemplary Programs Award from the American Association of Community College National Council of Instruction for the Supplemental Instruction program she established at St. Louis Community College. She participated in the Institute for Women in Leadership in the Community College.
Mrs. Nolting understands the complexities involved in institutional change, and works well in bringing faculty, staff and administrators together to collaborate in their efforts to improve teaching and learning.
Mrs. Nolting has conducted numerous workshops on learning assistance, tutor training, math study skills, teaching and learning styles, instruction design, and assessment.
In addition, she as consulted on longer term bases with colleges to develop retention plans and developmental education programs.
